“Entitled ‘Sensory Chronicles’, Aesop’s 2020 collection of Gift Kits pays tribute to the
remarkable power of the imagination. Each individual kit is an invitation to embark on a voyage of the mind and senses, celebrating mankind’s ability to access other worlds without leaving the comfort of home.
Launching on November 2, 2020, each Gift Kit will be housed in a biodegradable case made from 100 percent recycled material and will offer customers a conscionable alternative to more conventional gift options. In a year of restricted travel, this is an opportunity to grant the gift of flight—albeit imaginary flight—with formulations to rouse the senses and stories to excite the faculties.
Each Gift Kit contains a forgotten work of literature available to download as an eBook or audio file —enhancing everyday wellbeing rituals through the additional benefit of escapism and discovery.
The Ardent Nomad compiles a selection from our Parsley Seed Skin Care range, to replenish and fortify skin in a variety of weather conditions. These formulations are joined by the writings of intrepid Swiss traveller and diarist, Isabelle Eberhardt.
The Lore Collector provides timeless staples to leave hands and body cleansed, hydrated and fragrant. The collection includes a largely forgotten work of psychological discovery by Japanese author of Greek-Irish descent, Lafcadio Hearn.
The Seasoned Wayfarer makes a vessel of the home, transporting all who live within its walls on a journey inspired by fragrance. The collection comes complete with a fantasy story by Brazilian literary giant, Joaquim Maria Machado de Assis.
The Metaphysical Voyager offers complete hydration with two of our most beloved formulations to soothe parched skin. This quenching duo is coupled with a journey to the heart of identity and selfhood, written by famed Indian polymath, Rabindranath Tagore.
The Chance Companion offers a classic pairing of hand and body care favourites along with a story of love and desire that starts with a chance encounter on a train, in a lesser-known work by celebrated New Zealander, Katherine Mansfield.
The featured stories can be accessed via a QR code on the sleeve of each kit. They are
available as both an eBook (EN FR KR JP TCH SCH) and an audio download. The complete collection of Gift Kits will be available at all Aesop signature stores, select stockists and counters in department stores around the globe, and at aesop.com”
