MATCHESFASHION.COM and Martina Mondadori Sartogo, founder of renowned interiors and design magazine, Cabana, are delighted to announce that for the month of April 2019 Cabana will be transforming the first floor and attic space of MATCHESFASHION.COM’s Mayfair townhouse, 5 Carlos Place. The curation of the two floors by Martina Mondadori will mark the launch of Cabana’s Spring/Summer 19 collection and exclusive capsule available on MATCHESFASHION.COM.
A new concept in luxury, 5 Carlos Place is both a physical location and global digital destination with an inclusive and exclusive approach -installations and events open to the public which are inspired by exclusive collections and content.

“The Cabana SS19 collection and exclusive capsule with MATCHESFASHION.COM was inspired by a mix of antique references and visual elements gathered on my trips. In particular, the pattern of the linen comes from the Renaissance Venetian ecclesiastical vestments which we love to pair with the more contemporary stripe we have developed. Cabana is all about mixing and layering patterns and this collection is a celebration of this. The plates are all hand painted in Italy and are inspired by traditional Hungarian and Mediterranean techniques, also a theme for issue 11 of Cabana Magazine which will be released on April 5th. I am delighted to be partnering with MATCHESFASHION.COM who are at the forefront of the luxury lifestyle experience and who are aligned with Cabana’s vision of luxury retail today.” Martina Mondadori Sartogo, founder of Cabana Magazine.

The first floor of 5 Carlos Place will be turned into a Mediterranean inspired dining room, featuring the exclusive Pink Samarkand motif linens, a distinct theme essential to this collection and a range of pink and green Italian Murano glassware. The windows will be decorated with Cabana’s striped print to evoke a contemporary gothic cathedral feel and the café in the attic will be tented, transforming it into a quintessentially Cabana design experience. This season’s Mediterranean theme and it’s vibrant colours are realised with the craftsmanship and exquisite techniques that are essential to Cabana’s DNA.
“Cabana has such an iconic point of view and it is the go to title for design inspiration. We are really excited to be working together for SS19 to launch the exclusive collection and give people a chance to view and experience the Cabana world in our installation at 5 Carlos Place.” Natalie Kingham, Fashion Buying Director at MATCHESFASHION.COM
This season Cabana’s table linens feature a floral pattern inspired by the Renaissance ecclesiastical vestments, and all tablecloths, napkins and placemats are made out of 100% linen. The ceramics, including dinner and fruit plates, vases, candle sticks and salt and pepper sets are hand painted and made in Italy. The glassware is entirely handblown and made in Murano, featuring different patterns in the shades of orange, green and pink. The matching straw placemats and baskets are made in Florence, and wooden hand painted trays make a playful addition to any summer dining table. Cabana’s collection concept is based on mixing and matching the
product as one would do with fashion accessories.
The Cabana x MATCHESFASHION.COM collection will be available online and showcased at the dedicated pop-up space at 5 Carlos Place throughout the month of April.
