ROUGE LOUBOUTIN CLASSIC COLLECTION BORNE IN THE NAME OF LOVE

This July, Christian Louboutin launches worldwide celebrations for the 4th birthday of his iconic Rouge Louboutin nail colour. The calligraphy-inspired nail colour bottle marks the first ever unique designer objet d’arts in the beauty universe. To this day, the brand continues to extend the timeless and brilliant Rouge Louboutin legend into various categories with boldness and character, from the jewelry inspired lip colour, to the seductive luminous ink liner and lash amplifying lacquer for the eyes, to the flirtatious lip beauty oil.

Christian Louboutin commemorates the Rouge Louboutin anniversary and milestone with a limited-edition LOVE sleeve that is designed to wrap any women’s favorite Christian Louboutin beauty product – perfect to give or get. The LOVE sleeve pays tribute to the designer’s immense creativity and joie de vivre. The LOVE design is a modern approach to his original design from 1991 created for the Dandy Love Red Sole Loafer. Christian was inspired by an image of the late Princess Diana sitting at the Taj Majal. “I was looking at this picture of Princess Diana taken while her husband was giving a speech. She looked so sad and bored, I thought: ‘what would bring a smile to her face?” explains Christian of his inspiration. The design is now reimagined with a “Painted Love” graphic that references street art and graffiti.

A Red Line

20 years ago, Christian Louboutin snapped up a bottle of red nail colour and applied the red lacquer to the sole of his shoe. And voilà! The red sole was born! Two decades later, when Christian Louboutin captured the essence of his iconic Red Sole in the first bottle of Rouge Louboutin, he introduced a new world of beauty. Ever since Rouge became the source of inspiration for a whole line of nail colour, lip colours and eye amplifiers at every woman’s fingertips.

Introduction of Rouge Louboutin

Nail colour is an integral part of Christian Louboutin history and is at the serendipitous origin of his signature Red Soles. In August 2014, Nail colour launched as the most natural entry category for CLB. One year later, the brand continued the designer’s Rouge adventure and launched a collection of 38 jewellery inspired Lip Colours offering three different finishes; Silky Satin, Matte Velvet, and Sheer Voile including the most highly anticipated Rouge Louboutin Lip Colours and in June 2016, Loubilaque, a high-shine and high pigment lip lacquer was introduced. In 2017 Christian Louboutin expands the universe of Louboutin to present an opus of eye amplifiers. The result is a collection that combines sensual application with the intensely rich colour and attention to detail. Oeil Vinyle is uniquely available in Christina’s iconic Rouge Louboutin. This timeless, vibrant red shade is Christian’s interpretation of “l’oeil de braise”: the burning look of desire.
