” I’M ONLY
HAPPY with a DESIGN
if I KNOW I’ve done EVERYTHING
to ensure it has
MINIMAL IMPACT on the WORLD”
-Kate Morris,
Winner of Ecochic Design Awards 2017
Kate Morris’s winning collection was colourful, whimsical and playful. Her design technique consists of zero-waste, up-cycling and reconstruction made with second-hand T-shirts, and end-of-line yarns to create the diverse knitwear. Her approach blends technology with handcrafting skills for efficiency and to create a tactile connection with the wearer.
As the winner of this year’s award, Kate will be working closely with BYT; Redress’s new up-cycled social impact fashion brand.
