MATCHALI opens its doors at The Landmark, Central. This 6-month fixture offers a creative assortment of made to order drinks crafted by matcharistas. The new store designed with Unite Unit perfectly captures the essence of MATCHALI’s urban neutral aesthetic. Featuring bespoke matcha stations and a ceremonial hand whisked matcha counter which embraces the customary rituals that surround matcha culture.

MATCHALI made its debut in 2019, as Hong Kong’s first home-grown contemporary matcha brand. Serving up healthy, modern drinks centred around its star ingredient, matcha. All drinks have health-boosting properties and are made without refined sugar whilst honouring old-world techniques.

The past four months, MATCHALI has made The Upper House its mainstay, a collaboration that married a tranquil oasis with contemporary tea. Now moving to the hustle and bustle of Central, MATCHALI brings its signature zen and craft to The Landmark.

A new space naturally calls for new flavours, which will include the debut of a seasonal summer drink, the Watermelon Passionfruit Matcha. Plus a much-requested drink from matcha purist’s, the Matchacano, a new approach on the classic americano. With new recipes continually being added to the menu, MATCHALI fans need not worry that their go-to matchablends are disappearing, beloved menu items like the Matcha and Hojicha Lattes, which provide a calm caffeine boost, are still available, as well as the Starburst Matcha, a delightfully fruity mix.

In troubling times like now, where Hong Kong faces many pressures, MATCHALI hopes to offer a touch of serenity. Nothing encapsulates that sentiment better than the Traditional Hand Whisked Matcha. A way to dedicate time for introspection, even if just for a moment. It begins with choosing from an array of chawans (tea bowls), some of which are antiques. The tea is meticulously prepared in front of you at a designated counter for an experience that invites you to pause.

In true MATCHALI fashion, expect more collaborations with local brands, as they have in the past with the likes of the Cookie DPT and Teakha. In an effort to continually bring new flavours, moreish bites and wellness concepts to the community.
