Moynat has opened an extended gallery in Landmark Hong Kong with bringing the customers a new in-store experience. This new gallery is the first and only store worldwide of the House designated to exotic items and trunks.
A contemporary vision of luxury
Since its renaissance in 2011, Moynat continues to combine modernity with age-old expertise. Seeking to carry on this tradition, creative director Ramesh Nair has cultivated at Moynat an aesthetic of serene elegance, a lightness of spirit and unexpected touches of humour.
Personalization and custom orders
One of the hallmarks of Moynat was custom-made and personalized luggage that was created around the client’s automobile and matched to the colour of the car body. We continue this tradition of personalization services such as hot stamping and hand painting.Clients’ initials can be hand painted in a variety of fonts and accompanied with distinctive Moynat motifs. Each piece is a unique work designed by the Creative Director and executed by artists in our Paris atelier, tailored to each client.
Additionally, Ramesh Nair has pushed the boundaries of our gifted artisans by creating exceptional, one-off trunks for modern day use, designed around a person or an activity and executed in the purest French artisanal tradition.
Curiosity, an architectural and graphic design practice based in Tokyo, designs Moynat boutiques and galleries worldwide. Maison Moynat prefers to use the term“Maison devente” in tribute to the brand’s founder, Pauline Moynat, who herself designed the store interior for her showroom at no. 1, avenue de l’Opéra, in 1869 in the heart of the trunk-makers’ district.
All Moynat showrooms have a strong signature: iconic vintage trunks, silent witnesses to the founding of theHouse, stand alongside Ramesh Nair’s modern-day creations.Throughout, the warm presence of washed oak provides a natural, mellow-toned setting, perfectly attuned to the colours and grain of the leather accessories. Discretion is the way Moynat expresses the true luxury of its House style.
