I know what it’s like to spend a whole day running around at work, keeping your
fingers crossed that your hair and makeup won’t show just how tired you might
feel at the end of your work day. I also know what it’s like to want to grab a drink,
see friends or attend a fun event after work. Because well, you deserve it!
It’s December after all. With countless Holiday parties and events to go to, even the
best-applied hair and makeup will be tested. Thankfully there are a few tips and
tricks that I live by to go from office warrior to party queen. And here they are.
Highlighter. It is the easiest way to look refreshed. Not only is it easy to apply –
pat, pat, pat – but it instantly makes your complexion glow. If you’re going for a
more natural look, I recommend using Becca’s Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed
Highlighter because you can apply as little or as much as you want. If you want to
‘shine bright like a diamond’, I recommend using Fenty Beauty by Rihanna’s
Killawatt highlighter. See what I did there?

Next up, add some colour to your look. Red lips are a classic for a reason – they
look good on everyone. I use Benefit Cosmetics’ ‘They’re Real! Red On!’ lipstick
because it’s easy to apply and a matte lip colour is oh so chic. Which is important
when you’ve got just a few minutes in the office bathroom to get ready.
Finish off by spraying Caudalie’s Beauty Elixir mist on top of your makeup. This
little bottle of miracles has been used by French women for years. It not only sets
your makeup, but also provides an instant burst of radiance. Yes, your beauty
wishes have come true.
Wearing your hair straight or in a low bun is an office staple. Before you set off to
your event, mix it up a bit by putting your loose hair into a high bun (hello
cheekbones!). Or if your hair is in a low bun to start with, try adding some gel to
the top of the hair for a sleek look. I use Amika’s Haute Mess Texture Gel. Voilà!
